HypnoBirthing Childbirth Class

HypnoBirthing is a great choice for moms wanting to learn how to tap into their natural birthing instincts and work with, rather than against, their bodies in labor. For 25 years, women have been using HypnoBirthing to have a more empowered and natural birth experience, based on a framework of evidence-based birth education. Partners are an integral part of the birth experience and are encouraged to practice the relaxation exercises right along with mom. For more information about Whitney and her experiences using HypnoBirthing for her births, go to www.insightcourage.com or call 801-674-6492.

Post-Cesarean Support Group

A support group for women and families who have experienced birth via cesarean section. All are welcome, whether you are seeking a space to process and heal from a difficult c-section experience, or you are looking to prepare for a next birth (a vaginal birth after cesarean, or VBAC). This is a place to share and hear stories, to process, to heal, to connect with other women and families who have had similar experiences, and a place to be empowered, informed, and prepared for the journey after a cesarean birth. We will draw heavily from a wonderful book entitled, "The Homebirth Cesarean," feel free to read from it beforehand and/or bring it with you to the group.

SEMINAR: The Amazing Journey of Child-led Weaning and Tandem Nursing: How do I Meet Everyone's Needs?

2 mini-presentations by Meghan Reed MS, RD, CD, IBCLC, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and a Registered Dietitian (RD). She received her master's degree in dietetics at the University of Utah. She has previously worked at Primary Children's Medical Center, Intermountain Medical Center, as well as the Sandy Public Health Center.

PART 1 Come learn about and discuss how natural-term breastfeeding happens. Children all eventually outgrow the need to breastfeed, although it may happen later than you expect. We will discuss what child-led weaning look like across many cultures, as well as why it is important to the physical and emotional health of the child (and parents)! Child-led weaning can bring up many challenges and phases that parents may not be aware of, since it's not commonly discussed in our culture. Natural-term breastfeeding is an awesome journey, so come get some tools to help you along the way!

PART 2  Are you nursing, but hoping to become pregnant again soon? Come learn about tandem nursing! We will discuss how breastfeeding can affect your fertility while trying to conceive, how nursing through a pregnancy works, and then how to juggle nursing a newborn and older child, all while still taking care of yourself. Tandem nursing can be challenging, but with support and knowledge you can create an amazing experience for your children and yourself!

SEMINAR: Myofascial Release for Pregnancy and Postpartum with Michael Sudbury LMT

Want An Easier, More Comfortable Experience In All Stages of Your Pregnancy?

Okay, so pregnancy might not ever be "comfortable," but myofascial release improves tissue and joint mobility, structural alignment and openness, and can greatly reduce the discomfort and troubles of pregnancy. Issues like heartburn, back or nerve pain, difficulty moving or finding a comfortable position to sleep and many others can all be improved. Labor will also be much easier with less risk of complications.

This workshop will help you understand how you can seriously improve your experience and the ability of your body to do what it knows best.

Michael Sudbury, LMT has trained directly and extensively with John F Barnes, PT, leading expert and the developer of the Myofascial Release Approach®, and has been an assistant instructor for his seminars. His MFR journey began in earnest in 2009, and though he is considered an expert therapist, he maintains that learning and development are never finished. His clients have found relief from shoulder, neck, and back pains that troubled them for years, and he has repeatedly helped ankles and knees feel less like blocks of wood and more like, well, joints. He loves hearing his clients proclaim, “I feel like a person again!” When not treating, he is often found enjoying hikes and playtime with his daughter. For him, life is not about having it all figured out, it’s about walking a path with heart.
